La Porte City Family Aquatic Center

The Aquatic Center, built in 2005, offers a zero entry pool with depths up to 10-ft. Features also include two diving boards, one of which is a high-dive, as well as a twisting & turning water slide!

June 8 Closed (Swim Meet)
June 14 Closing at 4:30 PM, no evening swim (Festival of Trails Parade & Fireworks)
June 20 Closing at 3:00 PM, no evening swim (Swim Meet)
July 4 Closed
Additional closures may be necessary due to inclement weather or lack of available personnel

Swim Lessons Sign up for lessons will be held on the following dates/locations:
May 9 - 17 8:00AM - 4:00PM M - F at City Hall
May 18 1:00PM - 4:00PM at the Aquatic Center
May 20 - 29 8:00AM - 4:00PM M - F at City Hall
Beginning May 31 During regular pool hours


2024 Lesson Schedule

Lesson Guidelines 
Parent & Me  6 mos. - 3 yrs  Allows children to acclimate to the water while developing basic swimming and water safety skills
Level 1 Must be 4 years old. Helps students feel comfortable in the water.
Level 2 Continued development of basic breathing, kicking, floating and self propulsion.
Level 3 Builds on skills in Level 2. Introduces strokes
Level 4 Develops confidence in more strokes and improves other aquatic skills.
Level 5 Provides further coordination and refinement of strokes.
Level 6 Refines strokes and introduces water survival/safety skills.
