We have a large selection of books, magazines, newspapers, and electronic resources available to be checked out by our library card holders. La Porte City FFA Historical & Ag Museum The mission of the museum is to encourage an appreciation and interest in the history, art, and culture of our community and state.

Downtown Walking Tour Discover unique landmarks, architecture, and more than a little history you may not have known before as you let the downtown storyboards lead the way.

Family Aquatic Center The La Porte City Family Aquatic Center offers a zero entry pool with depths up to 10-ft. Features also include two diving boards, one of which is a high-dive, as well as a twisting & turning water slide! 

Summer Recreation League (Little League) The City offers tee ball, coach pitch, baseball and softball programs to students in 4 years old preschool through 6th grade.

The La Porte City Golf Club offers a challenging, 9-hole golf course close to the community.

Cedar Valley Nature Trail is a 63 mile recreational trail from Evansdale to Hiawatha that runs right through La Porte City.

McFarlane Park is located just three miles from La Porte City. Adjacent to the Cedar Valley Nature Trail, the park offers overnight camping, rental cabins, playground and picnic areas and over two miles of walking trails.

Hickory Hills Park is located nine miles from La Porte City. The park offers overnight camping, rental cabins, hiking trails and wildlife exhibits.
